On July 20, the Red Cedar Zen Community will continue the weekly "Reading Dogen" study group using the Tanahashi translation. We have finished Bendowa and we'll start with the second fascicle of Shobogenzo, Manifestation of great Prajna, which will be followed by Genjokoan. We meet on Zoom at 7:00 pm on Monday evenings hosted by Sangha teacher and Tanto (head of practice) Shudo Chris Burkhart.
For an hour we will read Dogen and discuss whatever comes up for us. We are using "Treasury of the True Dharma Eye, Zen Master Dogen's Shobo Genzo," edited by Kazuaki Tanahashi as the main translation. There is no need to commit to the series, dropping in is fine.
